Cora Key:
Thank you to Cora Key, who works for the National Swine Registry alongside NJSA (National Junior Swine Association), for recently joining the Ag Beat Blog. Her insights into the agricultural community and her passion for agriculture are encouraging.
Cora's journey began as a shy kid who didn't necessarily know what she wanted to do on her journey. Yet, thanks to the opportunities the agricultural industry offers and the connections made, many doors have been opened. Her advice is, "If you can dream it, you can do it." She believes in doing whatever it takes to make your dreams a reality and encourages everyone to stay positive, promote, and advocate for agriculture. Cora also feels that it is essential to give back to your community and the industry as a whole. We must capitalize on agriculture communications and technology advancements to continue thriving in agriculture. We also need to encourage younger generations to return to the farm and work on family farms. Cora believes it is essential for exhibitors to learn from our show experiences and walk away with a better understanding of leadership, compassion, and life lessons. Not everyone walks away with the "purple banner," but everyone can walk away with a learned lesson. Cora advises everyone to let one bad day be just that, one bad day. The Lord's timing is always right, and allowing a poor moment to affect oneself is not doing your part for the industry. We have to shake it off and keep going!
