Andrew Carnley:

Andrew Carnley, the 2023-2024 Georgia FFA State Central Region Vice President, and a Georgia National Fairgrounds Livestock Ambassador, joined the Ag Beat Blog! His insights into the Georgia agricultural community and passion for agriculture and FFA are inspiring. He hopes to give back to the community through his future career as a veterinarian and by pouring into the younger generations. He encourages students and everyone to take advantage of FFA and agricultural opportunities and to support the local agriculture industry. Andrew believes "supporting those who rely on you" is essential for a thriving agriculture industry. He shared a quote by Jackie Robinson that has inspired him: "Life is not a spectator sport...If you're going to spend your whole life in the grandstand just watching it go by, in my opinion, you're wasting your life."

Andrew also shared some advice from a livestock judge that he found encouraging. The judge said, "Do not wait for the moment to finally come. Prepare for it ahead of time. Noah built the ark, and he continued to build the ark until the rain came, and when the rain finally came, he was prepared. Take that approach in everything you do, not only in the agricultural industry but in life. Continue to build and do not wait for the rain to finally come; you have to continue to build on yourself, on others, and on this industry, and when it is time for you to take that stand or use the knowledge that you gained you can output it into the world for so many people to hear."
